Easiest Fire Roasted Green Salsa

It’s Autumn everywhere else but in Sourthern California we are still having 80 degree days. That means I can fire up my grill and cook! The other day I was craving fire roasted green salsa as I really enjoy the smokey flavor of the tomatillos and jalapeños. It tastes different than regular green salsa –  the flavor is so delectable. This is the easiest fire roasted green salsa recipe you’ll find.

Easiest Fire Roasted Salsa

Fire up the grill  (or you can use a griddle on your stove) and place the 12 tomatillos, jalapeños, and onion slices on the grill.  You will start to hear the popping noises of the tomatillos and jalapeños- keep turning them until all surfaces are charred. The smell is amazing! Once everything is charred place tomatillos, jalapeños, onion slices, garlic cloves and cilantro in a blender. Blend by pulsating to have chunkier salsa or blend thoroughly to have liquid salsa. Add as much salt as you prefer and you are done.

  1. Oh wow, what an amazing salsa recipe. I’d love to make this, but I don’t think I’ll be able to find any tomatillos. Is there anything I could substitute? We have gooseberries growing wild in our garden. I think they’re from the same family but I don’t know if they’d taste the same!

  2. Mmmm… this looks deliciouso! Lo trato!
